HO CHI MINH TRAIL TOUR FROM PHONG NHA TO HOI AN ITINERARY
8:00 am Our tour guide and bikes will pick you up at your stay in Phong Nha. We take a short time to brief itinerary for the tour as well as necessary things to note during the journey. Then we get ready to depart Ho Chi Minh Trail tour from Phong Nha to Hoi An.
8:30 am We drive on the west branch of Ho Chi Minh trail. The road through layered mountains. You may hit the winding valleys’foot then again towering on the mountain top within a short time. The trail represents such a heroic history which has suffered many bombs in the anti-American war.
10:00 am Conquering U Bo peak which is at an altitude of 1,009m above sea level, amidst a primeval forest. This is also one of the highest point of Truong Son range. Standing on the top, the view from the distance is a thick forest of moss green trees.
11:00 am. We have lunch before continuing Ho Chi Minh trail Motorbike tour.
12:00 am Keep heading to the south on west Ho Chi Minh trail. Through U Bo peak, the western branch bending cross the minority villages of Van Kieu, Pa Co, Ta Oi, Co Tu. The daily life of local may interset you by their unique culture.
4:00 pm We arrive in Ta Con airbase in historical DMZ old battle field. It is about 5 km away from Khe Sanh town, about 20km southwest of Lao Bao border gate. This base was associated with many accomplishments during the 1968 Khe Sanh liberation campaign and is attributed to the sarcastic quote of US Defense Secretary James R. Schlesinger: “Although we have thrown American honor to keep (Khe Sanh) and force the Joint Chiefs of Staff pledged to blood, but eventually to retreat”.
5:00 pm Our day 1 trip stops at Khe Sanh Town where we take accomodation and have dinner. End the first day of Ho Chi Minh Trail motorcycle tour from Phong Nha to Hoi An.
8:00 am Get ready for day 2 of Ho Chi Minh trail tour. We drive through the DaKrong Bridge – an important historical site that served Viet milarity from the North to the South.
10:30 am A Luoi Town which is about 70 km to the west Hue city. At here you have chance to explore A Roang district – a mountainous area which has many stunning wild life such as: Waterfall, primary forest, loops so on.
12:00 am Having lunch at A Luoi Town and enjoy local food of ethnic minoritites.
1:30 pm This afternoon of Phong Nha to Hoi An Ho Chi Minh trail motorcycle tour is driving to the beautiful Prao Town in Quang Nam province. The route is the typically crooked mountain roads which bring you the high feel on the motorcycle.
4:30 pm We arrive in Prao Town where to take accomodation, have dinner and take rest after day 2 of Phong Nha to Hoi An Ho Chi Minh trail tour.
8.00 am. We leave BRAO Town and depart for the third day of the tour. Then on the way, stop to visit ethic minorities, exerience with local to weaving and staying in stilt house.
11.00 am. Continue Ho Chi Minh trail motorbike tour to a green teal hill for an amazing photos. We crossing local ferry to stop at Secret war tunnel in a village. Time to have lunch with local foods such as: My Quang and Cao Lau which are the most popular ones in the area.
1.00 pm. Arriving at My Son and exploring the stunning ruins of the Champa Kingdom that were built around six centuries ago. It comprises of many Champa temples, in a valley roughly two kilometers wide, surrounded by two mountain ranges. It was the site of religious ceremony of kings of the Champa dynasty, and was also a burial place of Champa royals and national heroes. In 1999, the My Son temple complex was recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. Though the complex has been destroyed over time, there are still many majestic ancient ruins of temples in the area.
4.00 pm. Arrive in Hoi An, we will drop you off at the hotel where we finish Ho Chi Minh trail tour from Phong Nha to Hoi An.
