Opening Hours and Entrance Fee for Kuang Si Waterfall

  • Kuang Si Waterfall is open daily from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • The entrance fee is 20,000 kip, approximately 55,000 VND (Vietnamese Dong) per person.
  • You can purchase tickets at the ticket office near the entrance of the waterfall. This ticket grants you access to Kuang Si Waterfall, the bear rescue center, and the butterfly park.

How to Get to Kuang Si Waterfall?

The Waterfall is about 25 km southeast of Luang Prabang. The road to the waterfall includes both paved and unpaved sections, making it a bit challenging to travel, especially on rainy days. It takes around 50 minutes to reach the waterfall. To reach Kuang Si Waterfall, you can rent a bicycle in Luang Prabang for around 20,000 kip. Alternatively, you can rent a scooter for 80,000 kip or take a bus. If you’re traveling in a group, using a tuk-tuk is a reasonable choice.

When transforming Kuang Si Waterfall into a tourist site, it has been developed into a spacious park. To facilitate movement, roads, bridges, and stairs have been built, making it convenient for visitors to explore.

Important Notes When Visiting Kuang Si Waterfall

To have a smooth and enjoyable visit to the Waterfall, consider the following points:

  • Avoid visiting on weekends: Sundays, in particular, tend to be crowded with locals. To avoid the crowds, visit the waterfall on weekdays. The best time to visit is in the morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, as it gets busier around noon.
  • Wear flat-soled shoes for easier access to climb the waterfall. If you want to experience swimming, bring swimwear, towels, clothes, and appropriate footwear.
